Family friends hired Fish Construction to upgrade their home. I saw the finished job and was impressed. Our friends also told me that Micah and his crew were very nice, responsible and easy to communicate with, so I decided to try them.
In the past, I had a very bad experience with a contractor who completely renovated a 2 bedroom home I bought – - he was argumentative, didn’t always tell the truth, would leave at night and not close outside doors or lock up, and was ruthless when he dealt with his own crew. I just could not have another experience like that, because if the contractor isn’t honorable you end up having to micromanage them and everything else.
So first we hired Fish Construction to tear down and rebuild my daughter’s garage and make it into an artist’s studio. Everything our family friends had said was true, they did a great job, were super reliable and didn’t misrepresent anything. Based on that experience, I then hired Fish to tear down my 1938 garage and build a small Casita in its place.
Mica was wonderful to me. He took me to the City for the permits and basically walked me through that process. He listened carefully and asked all the right questions when I presented my ‘design’ to him – - what I wanted in the Casita rebuild. His crew was respectful and friendly and so hard working. They came when they said they would and worked really hard. In addition to that, they were personable, the type of workers you wouldn’t mind having as sons or friends. So easy to talk to, so open to suggestions, so willing to answer questions.
I have enormous respect for this construction group and am please with the work and the cost and the finished Casita! I would not hesitate to use them again.
